High Definition Video Conferencing

High Definition Television is the newest set of video standards for high resolution television viewing. Similar to High Definition (HD) television, HD Video Conferencing provides images with finer resolution providing a sharper, clearer picture for video conferencing participants. While HDTV is a one-way broadcast which transmits video in one direction, video conferencing is a real time, two-way interactive video communication.

There are several Standard Definition and High Definition resolutions available. The HD Video supported by Verizon Conferencing provides a "true" High Definition experience with a screen resolution frame size of 1,280 x 720 pixels with a transmission speed of 30 frames per second.

There are four IP access speeds supported with HD Video Conferencing - 1.152Mbps, 1.472Mbps, 1.536Mbps and 1.920Mbps. Video Conferencing customers will need to use HD enabled endpoints on Reserved Premier or Standard service conferences in order to hold an HD call. Customers will also need to ensure that they have registered their HD endpoint indicating that HD is enabled and will need to call in their Video Conferencing reservation.

For more information on holding an HD Video Conference, please contact your conferencing account representative.
