April 2016 - Cisco WebEx Upgrade to WBS 30.4
The current upgrade schedule is based upon WebEx site URLs:
After April 8, 2016 - Site URLs beginning with Letters A through O or a Numeric value.
April 15, 2016 -Site URLs beginning with Letters P through Z and "shared sites" for Instant and Advanced Net Conferencing(mman, van, mymeetings, mymeetingsft, mymeetingsssl, mmancusa, mminsusa).
Once a WebEx site has been upgraded, a new meeting application will automatically be offered the first time a user enters a meeting. The installation of this new application is automatic and will not require a restart.
Productivity Tools application - The new Productivity Tools application will be offered when a user starts Productivity Tools for the first time after the WebEx site upgrade.
- WebEx has implemented a monthly update of WebEx Productivity Tools. It is recommended that companies provide their end-users the capability to receive these updates automatically.
- Direct Site customers your Site Administrator has the ability to turn off the Automatic WebEx Productivity Tools update if the WebEx Productivity Tools are deployed to end-users thru a Silent Installation.
WebEx Client and WebEx Productivity Tool .MSI file management
Verizon Conferencing is implementing an Unlocked Version of WebEx for all customers that are utilizing WebEx Instant and Advanced Net Conferencing service on the following "shared sites"
(mman, van, mymeetings, mymeetingssft, mymeetingsssl, mmancusa, mminsusa).
This means going forward that all Verizon Conferencing "shared sites" will always be on the most up to date version of WebEx. Verizon Conferencing will no longer support a Net Plug-ins page where WebEx Client or WebEx Productivity Tools .MSI files can be downloaded
Any Company that creates a Silent Installation file to deploy the WebEx Client or WebEx Productivity Tools to end users computers will need to submit a request to the below email address to request the required .MSI files.
- Once a request is made to receive WebEx Client or WebEx Productivity Tools .MSI files has been made a Net Support Specialist will contact the requester within 1 business day to provide the necessary .MSI files.
